West Jefferson, NC - Want to be assured of a restful vacation? This log cabin, privately situated only three miles from West Jefferson, is just the place to stay. Whether you're looking for a quiet romantic weekend, or a week-long family vacation, you'll enjoy the comfort and modern amenities of this log home. There are wonderful mountain views to enjoy from the rocking chairs on the oversized porch or the bubbling hot tub. Inside, in air-conditioned comfort, the main level offers a large great room with plush furniture, a cozy gas fireplace, 42 Plasma HDTV with premium satellite channels including Starz and movie channels, a dining and kitchen area with lots of windows for enjoying those wonderful mountain views, along with a nice-sized bedroom with king bed and hall bath. Hardwood floors lead up to the loft area, nicely furnished as a sitting/sleeping area and shelves stocked with many bestseller books. The huge master bedroom provides a comfy king bed, satellite TV & its own private bath and walk-in closet. Have additional guests or children? The downstairs area provides another bedroom with two sets of bunks and a daybed that makes two twins, along with a third full bath. Tired of eating out? Throw a steak on the charcoal grill and enjoy the evening nestling by the fire or rocking on the porch! Now that's relaxing. Or, if you prefer, make a quick trip into West Jefferson, and eat out at one of our fine restaurants, shop the downtown area with its quaint shops and art galleries, or spend about 25 minutes driving into Boone, Blowing Rock, or to the ski slopes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and a fenced area with Dog Run is provided. Sorry, no cats. Towels & Linens are provided along with a washer/dryer. Wireless DSL access and fax machine is now available, as well as Pool table, Pub table and chairs, and 2 additional TV's (total of 4) have just been added to increase your enjoyment of this cabin.

  The house is a beautiful log house with a gorgeous wrap-around deck. The views were amazing. Town is only about 10-15 minutes away with some great shops, breweries and even had some great sushi! The management company was very quick to jump on a small issue with the shower. I can’t say enough about the great communication from the management company and how kind they were to deal with.
  As for the house, some furniture needed some love but for the most part was perfect for the style.

  We had a great time at your Airbnb. Views were fantastic. Here are a few suggestions to make it more enjoyable for future guests.
  1. The smoke detectors were not attached. This could be a hazard.
  2. Fix the bathroom doorknob. It is loose.
  3. Fix the Master bedroom furniture drawer handle. It is loose.
  3. Living room rocking chairs were broken.
  4. Hot tub temp was at 92. This should be at 100.
  5. Update the cooking utensils. They were bending while in use.
  6. Replace cooking pans with non-stick ones.
  7. Fix drawer fixture in kitchen.
  8. 2nd floor bedroom facing the mountain was hot. Replace window treatment there with room darkening to help it.

We will check the loose handles. The hot tub is turned down and guests can adjust it up to 104 if needed. We do wish you had contacted us during your stay regarding these issues. We would have been more than happy to send someone out. We do hope you enjoyed your stay and will stay with us again.

  We love West Jefferson. We have made it our vacation choice for many years now. Our house this year was so spacious and the view was the best we have ever had!! Having 4 full baths was definitely a plus!!! The house was very clean and perfect for our family of 11 plus our dog! He loved the fenced in area . Our annual tubing outing and trip to the cheeses factory and store were once again a success. The visit to Old Barn Winery is one we will repeat in years to come.

  Rest Assured is a Wonderful Vacation Rental. It was Clean, Very Comfortable, and Roomy. My Husband and I were able to stay on the Main Level with our 2 Four-Legged Fur Babies (our 2 dogs - Toy Maltese and Shorkipoo). Rest Assured has an Awesome Back Porch with Rockers for the Renters enjoyment and Lots of Beautiful Mountain Views. This Rental is within minutes to West Jefferson & Jefferson, and 25 to 30 minutes to Boone. Lots of Wonderful Restaurants to Eat at and Lot of Shops for Shopping within minutes. The Old Barn Winery was also within Minutes also. The Kitchen was well equipped to cook a meal there at the house. With a Dining Room Table to Feed a Crowd. This House is just as pictured, the Den has a lot of seating and Spacious.
  We have been Renting from Carolina Mountain Properties for quite a while now. Their Rentals are Clean and Everyone at the Office is so Nice, Professional, and more than Happy to assist you when needed.

  Who would expect a tropical storm to hit the mountains in November!?! Thankfully the Carolina Mtn property staff Missy and Jennifer kept us informed on weather conditions and ultimately decided to switch us to a safer location before we arrived. The cabin was much larger than we planned but was just as lovely. Very clean, beautiful views from the porches. Easy driveway and parking, and it’s really close to downtown! Our friends were so jealous. So now we’re planning to book this cabin in the future for a group trip!

  The house was a good fit for my family especially the large open living area. There were a few problems noted on our note leaving, none that was a big problem. The big problem for us was the parking space. Plenty of room for people but difficult parking. I would recommend the house but with a warning about the parking. The location was convenient to down town and Mountain Air and the highways getting there.

  What an awesome experience! "Rest Assured" was spotless when we arrived and came well stocked with the kitchen basics. The cabin is spacious and yet still somehow cozy and intimate. The large wrap around patio was the perfect place to have a drink and watch the sunset over the absolutely stunning mountain view. There was a problem with the hot tub when we first got there (to no fault of theirs), but the office had a maintenance crew out as soon as they could to rectify the issue and were very responsive to all of our inquires. Everyone I spoke to was very polite and made my group feel welcomed! Will definitely be staying again.

  Spacious open floor plan made it easy for our whole family to hang out and enjoy meals together. The cabin is kept clean, the location is good, the view from the back porch is wonderful. The cabin does need some maintenance in a few places. When we visited, the basement (4th bedroom and pool table area) had moisture in the carpets and smelled of mildew. A dehumidifier was running down there but carpet water stains indicated this might be an ongoing problem. Basement shower didn’t drain well but management company was very responsive and quickly sent out maintenance.Main and upper floors were in excellent condition. Kitchen has most of what you need for simple food prep. Hot tub was an enjoyable feature on a cool night. Rental property said they use a company to keep hot tub serviced between renters-it was very clean. It is located a few minutes from restaurants in Jefferson. We enjoyed hiking, tubing down the New River and did a day trip to ride our bikes on the 17 mile Virginia Creeper, and drank coffee on the back porch watching the clouds move around mountains. Excellent vacation getaway!

Kitchens are equipped for light cooking and this is stated in the rental agreement. Our hot tubs are serviced prior to the arrival each guests for safety. West Jefferson is just a short 8 - 10 minute drive away from the cabin and the Virginia Creeper does make a great day trip. Rest Assured offers magnificent views of Bluff Mountain from the covered deck. We look forward to having you stay with us again.

  Great view with plenty of room for everyone! The house was clean and organized and ready early which made life super easy.
  
  The only complaint I feel is necessary to point out is with some of the decor. There are small figurines around the top of the kitchen that are extremely outdated and racist. We had a person of color staying with us and were mortified to find those in the kitchen and he was more than offended. I understand some of these items are collectibles, but with new groups of people moving in and out of the home all from different walks of life it may be best to remove these all together.

  I was surprising my mom with a mountain cabin for her birthday. When we got to the first house I rented, there were some issues with it. The Carolina mountain properties staff was amazing and worked very hard to get us into a cabin that would meet our needs. We ended up in Rest Assured, and it was amazing! Incredibly clean, spacious and beautiful views. We had a great weekend and I'm so thankful for the company for being willing to with with us and help us out.

  Overall the place and stay was very good but want to point out few maintaince issues.
  
  1)We reached Rest assured cabin at 11PM and the cabin code and wifi pwd given to us are wrong,there are no signals there to call them again we came down the hill for signal and called them.
  
  2)Fan is not working in one of the bedroom upstairs,myself along with my kid slept outside in the hall.
  
  Apart from above issues everything is fine.

  Overall, our stay was excellent. The house itself is beautiful with its its all-wood interiors. The view is gorgeous. It’s location to West Jefferson is only an 8 minute drive. The shops and restaurants are interesting and good. We had a super nice stay in general. Points of information to know - the house site is on a steep slope, so parking and walking is an adventure. Not for unsupervised children. The decor is a little dated but clean and comfortable. The basement level is a bit worn, but the pool table is fun.

  The cabin was great. The only complaint was that it was a bit cluttered (particularly the kitchen). This was both good and bad. We had all of the appliances, dishes and cooking utensils that we could ever need. However, It made it difficult to store the food items that we brought. Otherwise, the bed (we stayed in the upstairs master) was comfy and shower was great. We really enjoyed the time by the fireplace and there was plenty of seating to accommodate all of us. The parking situation was a bit challenging for the number of vehicles we had but we managed it with a little practice!

  Very nice comfortable mountain home for our family to spend Thanksgiving. Nice big table for us all to sit around. Well stocked kitchen. Beautiful views, close to cute West Jefferson. Nice dog run on property. We liked the nice touch of a Christmas tree decorated and lit when we arrived.

  Wonderful. The house needs a little more maintenance. A lot of light bulbs were blown and all the lights over the dining room table were out. Our first night was supper by candlelight. The swing on the back deck was missed. We loved the fact all the beds were made this year.

  Our three families (6 adults, 5 teenagers) enjoyed a perfect August long weekend at Rest Assured. Each of the adult couples had our own bedroom and bathroom and the kids had the whole downstairs (1 bedroom with 6 beds plus a large bathroom, laundry and rec room with pool table. The hot tub was a great size, perfect temp, clean and had a nice view. It was on the lower deck, just off of the rec room. The upper deck was large with seating and a great view of the mountains to the west. The house is situated at about 3500ft, so we had cool nights, even in August. There's also a large table on the deck for cocktail hour and to hold food and supplies while grilling. The grill probably needs replacing as the bottom was rusted out and we put a pan below to keep the drippings off the deck. It worked fine for our cooking needs. The kitchen worked great for us. There's an excess of cooking utensils and containers so we had everything we needed for cooking all of our meals. We tubed on the New River in Todd one day and explored West Jefferson another day. Mt Jefferson Park, right in W Jefferson, was a great spot to hike with terrific views. We also visited Molly Chomper Cidery near by and walked around downtown W Jefferson. Jennifer at Carolina Mountain Properties made the house very easy to book, locate and live in for the weekend. I would definitely call her again.

  Rest Assured has an awesome view of the mountains. We loved sitting on the back porch, drinking coffee and taking in the views of the was also easy to get to. You have plenty of privacy in the back. Loved the game room and playing pool while watching the game. There were only a few issues. The grill was not usable and very dangerous. We brought food to grill and was disappointed. This happens in alot of the places I have rented. The power outlets in the kitchen were not working well. Only 1 could charge my phone. I would come back for sure., In fact, this is my second time staying here.

  Our family of 5 stayed at Rest Assured for 4 nights in Rest Assured during the month of August and enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean and had great mountain views. There was a convenient fenced area beside the property where our dog could play around without fear of him getting lost. We would recommend this cabin to others looking to vacation in this part of the NC mountains.

  I'm from the city (like VA,MD, DC area) .With that being said - There was NO cell phone reception! It was a minor thing for my group because we enjoyed ourselves for the time we were there and didn't have the chance to be distracted with cellphones going off. So it was great! Real quality time. We were 5 adults and 7 children. There was enough room for all of us! The game room downstairs kept the kids occupied the entire length of our trip! The cabin was clean except for the downstairs area where the game room and bunk room was located. The carpets needed to be vacuumed and maybe shampooed or steamed. Since the carpet was white it had a dingy-dirty look. The kids found a leftover sock and popcorn kernels. The furniture downstairs also needs some TLC. The pull-out sofa was broken and the chairs down there weren't the sturdiest -- I didn't want the kids on the high stools or the rocker because I was afraid the chairs would break and someone would get stabbed with a piece of wood. Other then those things we enjoyed ourselves. The weather didn't cooperate with us but I'm sure -- with clear skies -- the view is as pretty as the picture.

  We wanted to get away from the heat and humidity and breathe some mountain air. I researched quite a few properties and was under pressure because it was a last minute week off. I needed a property that allowed dogs and this place fit the bill. The booking process was easy online and the value was great. When we arrived we couldn't believe how beautiful the view was and couldn't spend enough time on the back porch. The inside was equally beautiful and so spacious. We only had 6 people, but it could easily accomodate up to 18 people. The fenced in area for the dogs made it easy to let them run free. We also loved walking down the country roads and listening to the cows in the pasture. West Jefferson was a cute little downtown and we did a lot of antique and thrift shopping. My husband went to Mountain Aire golf course which is only a few miles from the property and said it was beautiful and challenging. We went to Boone a couple of times and it was an easy drive with cool shops and restaurants. We also hiked some trails to Hebron rock falls and the dogs were in heaven. This is a vacation we truly loved and will definitely be back. We are even talking about buying property in the area because we loved it so much!

  We had a great time but there were carpenter ants. I called the emergency phone number for the office as soon as we found them the 2nd day we were there. I spoke with Jeannie and she was so nice and she called the maintenance/exterminator right away and he came over and sprayed the windows and the ceiling in the master bedroom. There were hundreds of carpenter ants. I have never seen anything like it. Our 80yr old uncle and aunt could not sleep in there because of the smell. But the guy was very nice and cleaned all the carpenter ants up. The reason we put them in the master bedroom was because of the stairs...they cannot go up and down a lot of they ended up sleeping in the recliners in the family room. Also the sink in the bathroom upstairs was clogged up and we fixed that ourselves. This is a really nice house but it just needed a really good all over cleaning and the whole house needed to be sprayed for bugs of all kinds. Other than all of this we had a good vacation. Jeannie is a very sweet caring lady and she apologized several times for the carpenter ants!

  Quick get away with kids and dog. Amazing views and all you need in a weekend escape. Only suggestion I have is upgrading the rockers and seating on back deck. Other than that, perfect experience.
