Have you ever dreamed of staying in an authentic log cabin with mountain and pastoral views that you can take in from a bubbling hot tub? Then Mountaintop Meadows is the cabin for you!

This cabin is in a secluded setting on twenty-nine acres just minutes from the banks of the New River. There are numerous hiking areas to explore, and the towns of Jefferson and West Jefferson are just minutes away. The drive to the cabin itself will have your imagination running wild: you’ll wind through meadows on a gravel road arriving at the cabin perched on the mountainside with breathtaking views. For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn.

Inside, you will find a cozy living area featuring a large flatscreen smart TV, a wood burning stove, and two leather chairs along with a comfy couch for relaxing. The couch makes a sleeper sofa for two if additional space is needed. The kitchen is well-equipped including a Keurig coffee maker, cookware, and dishware so you can prepare a quick snack or family meal. Just off the kitchen is the spacious dining area that offers plenty of seating and an amazing view of the mountains to enjoy as you gather around the table for a meal.

Also on the main level is the primary bedroom with a comfortable king bed, flat screen smart TV and access to the shared bathroom. There is also a laundry room complete with washer and dryer.

Climb the stairs to the second level and you will find another bedroom with two twin beds for guests or the family.

Step out the front door and you will discover a cozy covered porch with rocking chairs for taking in the views. You’ll love sitting back and enjoying the sounds of nature all around you! The side porch offers a gas grill for your grilling pleasure.

Explore the surrounding land or plan a day trip to bike, fish, canoe, or hike but you will love coming back to this cabin to relax and stargaze at night.

NOTE: Gravel driveway to cabin with incline may need FWD, ALL Wheel, or 4WD. During the winter months, four-wheel drive is required.

  We had a wonderful stay at this cozy vacation home! It’s perfect for a relaxing mountain getaway and has all the essentials. The property is surrounded by beautiful farmland, though some areas are steep. The driveway does require AWD or 4WD in winter, so plan accordingly.
  
  The home is comfortable, filled with natural light, and the porch and patio are great for relaxing or working outside. The internet was good enough for a Zoom call (video off) while streaming Netflix, making light remote work possible.
  
  This rental is ideal for those looking to escape and recharge, and we HIGHLY recommend it for families or couples. It’s the perfect place to unwind and disconnect from the hustle and bustle.
  
  This is a fantastic spot to unwind with family or a partner, and we HIGHLY recommend it!
  
  Pet Owners: Ticks were very active in November, likely due to a recent hurricane (it has affected many animals and insects). This is NOT the property owner’s fault—just typical for mountainous areas and exacerbated due to the storm. Be sure your pets are on flea/tick meds and bring tweezers and a brush (we picked one up at Tractor Supply).
  
  EV Owners: Charging stations are in West Jefferson, with a Supercharger in Boone.

  It is definitely a cabin on a hill. First night as we approached the cabin we seen a bunch of deer. The cabin itself is about as real as it gets. True log cabin. The place was clean and tidy and comfortable. The rental representative that stayed in contact with us was very helpful and kind. Would absolutely love to do it all over again! I do wish there was a fire pit on the deck or an area near the hot tub for a small fire though.

But seriously, I wouldn’t change a thing and hope that we can continue coming back to the cabin every year. Great location for privacy but close enough for hiking and dining out if you want. The hot tub was wonderful, as well!

  Secluded! Clean and quiet. Only a few miles to Lancing if you need something. Driveway is steep so increment weather a 4 wheel drive would be needed.
